Your Repeat Prescription
Patients who are receiving long-term treatment may be eligible for our repeat prescription service. Only those items listed on the white right-hand side of your prescription form are regarded as ‘repeat items’ and you must see a Doctor if you want to obtain any item that is not listed there.
Please note, however, that certain medication items CANNOT be ordered in this way. These include:
- Warfarin
- Diazepam and related preperations
- Controlled drugs (prescriptions written ‘by hand’ or with items marked ‘CD’)
- Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
- The Contraceptive Pill
- Medication where the number of renewals have expired
- Medication that has not been requested for some time
How to Obtain a Repeat Prescription
There are several ways to obtain your repeat prescription:
- In person, by placing your repeat prescription slip into the box provided near the Reception desk.
- By post, including a stamped addressed envelope.
- Online, using our secure website repeat prescription form.
We no longer accept prescription requests by telephone. The Surgery switchboard is usually quite busy so it is very important not to ‘block’ the phone lines with prescription requests in case of a serious emergency.
