Confidentiality
All persons employed by, or contracted to this Surgery, or any person given access to your medical records will be subject to a duty of confidentiality. You have a right to object to such disclosures.
Your medical records are confidential and only accessed by our Doctors and Surgery Staff when necessary and appropriate. We may share information about you when it is necessary for your clinical care, for example if we refer you to a specialist.
In some circumstances appropriate and approved third parties, for example staff at the Local Health Board, may require access to information for purposes such as audit, aimed at improving clinical care and services. If you have any queries about his or you do not wish to allow such third parties to have access to your records, then please speak to our Practice Manager.
If we are asked to provide a medical report about you, for example by a solicitor or insurance company, then we will only do so with your written consent.
Data Protection
The Practice is registered under the Data Protection Act 1984. The act applies particularly to information which is stored on computer and anyone revealing this information without authority is liable to prosecution.
Under the Data Protection Act 1984, you are also entitled to access your clinical records or any other personal information held about you. Contact our Practice Manager for guidance on how you may do this.
